Artist residency
Tegnestuen Kontekst er en del af teamet bag "Writers House" – artist residency, der skal give forfattere og journalister et kreativt fristed i smukke omgivelser.
Bag ideen står bygherre og galerist Mikael Andersen, som for 25 år siden opførte Studio House på nabogrunden. Det hus bruges i dag af malere og billedkunstnere – og med Writers House udvides visionen til også at rumme skrivende kunstnere.
Pritzker-prisvindende arkitekt Tadao Ando og hans tegnestue, Tadao Ando Architects & Associates, er kreativ arkitekt på projektet i samarbejde med Tegnestuen Kontekst, der varetager det udførende arkitektarbejde. Det er en stor ære at være en del af dette projekt.
Husets placering og tilpasning i terræn sikre diskretion og et samspil med naturgrunden, hvor en allé med over 100 år gamle rønnetræer bevares som et styrende landskabsgreb.
Lys, vand og natur er gennemgående elementer i Tadao Ando’s arkitektur – og de spiller også en central rolle i dette projekt. Writers House bliver et cirkulært hus opført som trækonstruktion, med et spiralformet tag, der snor sig om et indre gårdrum med et spejlbassin. Materialevalget og formsproget skaber en bygning, der taler direkte ind i naturen omkring den, frem for at dominere den.

Tegnestuen Kontekst is part of the team behind Writers House – an artist residency that will provide writers and journalists with a creative retreat in beautiful surroundings.
The project was initiated by client and gallerist Mikael Andersen, who 25 years ago built Studio House on the neighbouring plot. Studio House is used by painters and visual artists and with Writers House, the vision is expanded to also accommodate writing artists.
Pritzker Prize–winning architect Tadao Ando and his firm, Tadao Ando Architects & Associates, are the creative architects on the project in collaboration with Tegnestuen Kontekst, who are responsible for the executive architectural work. It is a great honour to be part of this project alongside Tadao Ando and his amazing team.
The house’s placement and adaptation into the landscape ensure discretion and a harmonious connection with the site, where an avenue of more than 100-year-old rowan trees is preserved as a guiding landscape element.
Light, water and nature are recurring elements in Tadao Ando’s architecture and they play a central role in this project. Writers House will be a circular building constructed as a timber structure, with a spiral-shaped roof that winds around an inner courtyard with a reflecting pool. The choice of materials and formal language creates a building that speaks directly into the surrounding nature, rather than dominating it.
